Ben Heath: From Math Student to High Roller Star

Ben Heath is one of the United Kingdom’s most accomplished poker professionals, recognized for his consistency in the toughest tournaments around the world. With more than 30 million dollars in live earnings, he has established himself as a fixture in high stakes poker, with a résumé that includes a WSOP bracelet and multiple seven-figure results.

Born in Brighton, Heath studied mathematics at Warwick University before making the decision to pursue poker full time. Known early on as a true math wizard, he started at the online tables before stepping into live tournaments. His natural skill with numbers and probability, combined with a calm temperament, gave him an edge in the structured world of tournament poker.

Heath’s early years were defined by steady progress on the European circuit and consistent results online. Known for his composure and his ability to explain complex situations in simple terms, he became a respected presence at the table even before his breakout victories. His rise was driven by a combination of disciplined fundamentals and an eagerness to embrace new tools such as poker solvers, preflop charts, and equity calculators that gave him sharper insights into advanced decision-making.

Heath’s breakthrough came in 2019 when he captured his first bracelet by winning the 50k WSOP High Roller in Las Vegas for 1.48 million dollars. That same summer he followed with a third-place finish in the 100k Triton London Main Event for 1.64 million dollars. Later that year, he pulled off back-to-back victories in Prague high rollers, a rare accomplishment that signaled his ability to dominate consecutive elite fields.

Since then Heath has continued to deliver big results. In 2021 he placed second in the 250k WSOP Super High Roller for just over 2 million dollars. In 2023 he finished fifth in the WPT World Championship for 1.58 million and added podium finishes in the 25k EPT Monte Carlo High Roller and the 100k Triton Monte Carlo. These results proved his staying power at the top level of the game and his ability to navigate multiway pots and ICM poker strategy against the best competition.

The defining moment of Heath’s career came in December 2024 at WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas. He placed second in the 500k Triton Million, earning 8.16 million dollars in a single result. The event brought together the strongest professionals and wealthy VIPs, creating one of the biggest prize pools in recent memory. For Heath, the finish represented the largest score of his career and confirmed his place among the very top tier of tournament players worldwide.

At GTO LAB, Heath shares the lessons he has learned from competing at the highest levels. He focuses on clarity and process, showing students not only what GTO poker is but how to study poker in a structured way. His sessions cover how to use a poker solver effectively, how to interpret preflop charts, and how to balance solver accuracy with real-world population tendencies. He also draws on tools like an ICM trainer, an equity calculator, and an expected value calculator to explain why theory points in certain directions and how to apply it under pressure.

By combining advanced poker theory with mindset coaching, Heath helps players build models they can trust. He emphasizes decision-making skills that translate across formats, from WSOP high rollers to Triton Super High Roller Series events. At GTO LAB, Heath works alongside coaches such as Brian Kim, Jonathan Jaffe, and Nick Petrangelo, bringing students access to a wide spectrum of elite experience. His own coaching style emphasizes clarity and application. Rather than teaching students to simply copy solver outputs, he focuses on explaining what GTO poker really is, how to use a poker solver effectively, and how to study poker in ways that stick. His lessons draw on real examples from final tables, Triton high rollers, and deep WSOP runs, breaking down solver accuracy, risk premium, and expected value calculations into lessons that students can actually apply in real time.
